Chamber Releases Poll Results on Businesses Plans for Reopening

SAINT JOHN, NB, March 16 2022: The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce today released the results of a poll to determine business reopening plans.

“There are mixed opinions and feelings on how businesses plan to reopen and return to more normal times. This poll helps us to better understand where the business community stands as they work to balance employee and customer safety with a viable business model”, said David Duplisea, CEO of the Chamber.

Just over half, at 54% of businesses in the region indicate they will not enforce opening protocols. 46% plan to implement one or more protocols. Of the 46%, Masks (69%) and safe distancing (67%)  are the top options, 23 % plan to ask for proof of vaccination, and 26% will leave it up to the customer”.

The poll ran for 2 weeks until March 14th 2022.
