Chamber Announces Saint John Region Matters 2021 – Meet the
Candidates
Online Forum Will Give the Saint John Region’s Mayoral Candidates a Chance to
Share Their Vision

March 10th, 2021, SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce
announced today “Saint John Region Matters 2021”, an online event that will give the
mayoral candidates of each region a chance to share their vision, platform, and plans.

“It is important for the residents of a municipality to have the opportunity to hear from the
candidates who are running. Although all elections are important, this one is especially so
given the precarious financial situation that we face. In addition, the pandemic has
increased the importance of recovery models,” says David Duplisea, CEO of The Saint
John Region Chamber of Commerce. “This forum will help inform voters and help them to
understand where candidate’s positions are on a variety of issues. People want to hear
plans for economic recovery, affordable housing, transportation and recreation, climate
change action plan, among others, and this forum is an opportunity for candidates to
address these pressing issues in their community.”

The sessions will take place on April 27th and 28th, 2021.

Saint John – April 27th 10:00 am

Grand Bay-Westfield – April 27th 1:00 pm

Quispamsis – April 28 10:00

Rothesay – April 28th 1:00pm

Registration is complimentary. A registration link and zoom details will follow. The
Chamber will be asking all candidates from each municipality to attend and will finalize the
list of participants in the coming weeks.
