The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce, alongside the Atlantic Chamber and Chambers across Canada, is actively monitoring the evolving trade landscape with the United States.

Key Points to Know:

• Canadian Chambers across the country have united to advocate for strong trade relations and to address potential risks posed by tariffs.

• The Canadian Chamber of Commerce was invited to participate in the Premiers’ meeting this week to discuss trade strategies and priorities.

Canada and US Trade Highlights:

• Canada is the #1 trading partner for 34 US states.

• For New Brunswick, Maine is our top trading partner, with $24,372 million in two-way goods trade annually.

• 799 New Brunswick businesses currently export to the US, supporting 40,443 Canadian jobs.

• Potential tariffs could impact the average Canadian by $1,900 CAD annually and the average American by $1,300 USD annually, underscoring the economic importance of protecting trade relations.
